Chapter 11: Dawn of the Day Three
<=Chapter 10 {Table of Contents} Chapter 12=>
Toaster-Man couldn't sleep. He was livid about losing the election. How could they vote against me? he thought. Mine was the only one with any kind of authority. Not to mention the only one with a comprehensive Ministry of Toast policy. How can anyone expect to rule Danada without a Ministry of Toast? Toaster-Man got out of bed and put on his jeans and cape. He didn't feel like a shirt, but a superhero must always wear their cape.
He opened a drawer in the dresser beside his bed, and pulled out a book of complex blueprints. The front of the blueprint book was labled "Ministry of Toast".
"I'll show them! I'll show them all! Muahahaha!"
"Show them what?" asked Jessica, who was in the next room over and heard through the wall.
"Oh, my Ministry of Toast," clarified Toaster-Man.
"Okay, that's nice," said Jessica. "Now go to sleep or else just stop shouting and laughing evilly."

In the morning, the Danadians naturally went down to the first floor, as that seemed to be the natural meeting place. There was a general air of excitement, that anything was possible. People sat and ate, talking amongst themselves on their plans for the future, and what they were thinking about doing with their floors.
Nathan went up to the stage. "Before everyone leaves to do whatever I have one more proposal to make. I want to assign the sixth floor as the government floor. I'll go up there and debate proposals with anyone who wants to join me. We can all vote on the proposals at sundown here on the first floor. Oh, also, someone should probably make some sort of time system so that we can use times other than sunrise, noon, and sundown."
"Why do you need a whole floor just to govern?" asked Bethany. "Just use this one."
"I dunno, I thought it would be more official," said Nathan. "All those in favour?"
The motion did not carry.
"Alright, we'll just use the first floor, then, but it seems kind of tacky," said Nathan.
"I'll do the time system," said 7ollion. "I've actually been working on it already."
"Awesome," said Nathan. "Well it looks like everyone is pretty much done eating. Anyone who wants to be part of the democratic process can join me and vice president Jeffery at the round table then."
"Actually I've been meaning to talk to you about that," said Jeffery. "I kind of wanted to start a farm with a bunch of my friends."
"But then who will vice things?" asked Nathan.
"Fine," said Jeffery. "I guess I'm still a bit disappointed that I wasn't the prime minister. We should probably figure out what the vice president does, in any case."
"You're not the only one," said Jessica. "Toaster-Man was practically livid about losing. He was going insane...er last night. Hey where is he anyway?"
"Probably moping about still, I'd imagine," said 7ollion.
"We can start the farm without you," said Stephanie. "When governing cools down a bit you can come work on it with us."
"Oh speaking of which, we should probably procure one of the floors for farming equipment and supplies," said Jeffery. There was a government motion, and it passed.
"Anyone else need any floors for projects?"
"I'd like to start a science/magic/psychic research lab," said Richard.
"A noble cause," said Nathan. The proposal carried.
"Dude, we have band practice," said Michael.
"No one told me we had band practice," said Richard.
"We have band practice every day!" said Tessa. "It's kind of implied."
"There's only been two days in the existance," said Richard.
"Anyway, suit yourself," said Mackenzie. "It's not like we can force you to be a musician if you'd rather be a scientist."
"Alright, does anyone have any other proposals before we break off into our projects?" Nathan asked.
Nobody did.
"Well, any anybody needs governing, you know where to find us. Also those that are starting a new floor, come up to the stage and I'll assign you one."
Everybody broke off to do what they had planned on doing. Nathan had made a large chart of the tower with floors that were assigned for people and was marking the new ones off on it as well.

Allison and Megan sat at a small table. They currently had no plans for long-term projects, and instead were working on their floorplans. They had gotten two beside each other and were creating an elaborate mansion, as they were best friends.
I decided to describe everyone again in different ways starting now, because let's face it, you probably skimmed over the chapter in which I described everyone. And even if you didn't, you probably forgot by now. Man, this writing stuff is difficult sometimes.
Anyway, Allison was kind of librarian-y with her brown hair and green eyes. Not too short but shorter than her blonde friend she sat beside. Megan was excitable and seemed to be forgetting common words that she wanted to use to describe their new home.
Jessica observed all this as she walked up to them. Shorter than both of them if they were standing, she walked up to them and rocked back and forth on her feet, biting a strand of her straight, thin brown hair until the two other girls noticed her at a lull in their conversation.
"Excuse me," she said rather quickly. "I don't mean to bother you but have either of you seen Toaster-Man today? He's not in his hotel room or on his assigned floor, although when I checked there it had to be with my eyes closed so I didn't accidentally collapse it."
"No, we haven't seen him at all since last night," said Allison.
"Anyway, why are you so concerned about him?" asked Megan.
Allison whispered something into Megan's ear and the two girls giggled.
Ignoring the implication, Jessica replied "I'm worried he might be starting to crack. The loss of the election hit him pretty hard. He was saying some strange things last night."
"Stranger than the usual Toaster-Man?" asked Allison. "That is kind of worrisome. But I doubt you'll be able to find him. This is a big building with a lot of places to hide."
"Or he might have even run off into the wilderness somewhere," said Megan.
"Hopefully not," said Jessica. "I mean... I know nobody is really his biggest fan, but I kind of feel sorry for the guy, you know? Anyway, you guys are welcome to help me look for him."
"Maybe later, we're kind of busy." Megan turned to Allison. "Now about that secret tunnel in the pool. I really don't think it should lead to the library."
"Oh, and the master bathroom makes so much more sense?" said Allison.
