Chapter 25: A Concert

Chapter 25: A Concert

Now, bear in mind this was a long day, the Danadians were getting tired. I was getting tired from watching all of them. I could go back and watch it, but I might inadvertently change history by doing so. Such is the danger of existing out of time for a mortal mind.

But here is my best account of what happened that night. I may sing the songs later if I can find the right time but right now they’re just vague recollections.

The first thing that everyone noticed was that Silverfish had added more instruments. Which was strange considering they had one less performer than their previous concerts.

They had added more electronics. They had a setup <look up names later> <<the pianist had both a piano and a keyboard. The Richard had a more unsubdued also>>>. And all the rest was true for each of the others.

They plugged the entire setup into a handy multiple-outlet extention chord that happened to be near the front of the stage, but were presently having some balance issues trying to start the show. The sound was being tested and things were trying to be even, but there was an electricity there. A tension in the air. Everything was on the verge of feeding back. You could sense it. The band could talk, but everybody in the front row could feel the literal charge in the foggy night, and those standing behind them could see it.

There were no further rows. There weren’t enough people there yet.

Tessa plugged the final instrument, an electric cello into the socket. She gave it a quick scalar warm-up and tuning.

It seemed just the right level, the same as the other instruments, give or take.

The feedback was palpable but she pressed on. “PRESENTING!” SSSr. (someone jumped onto the sound board but heDidnt quite know what he was  doing.
